		<description>Biosphere2023Art Gallery of Western Australia, Spaced, Rural Utopias
Biosphere&#38;nbsp;2023single channel video, 19.00 minutes.&#38;nbsp;
Biosphere collages text, video and sound collected during conversations with local residents. It presents a humorous and self-reflexive counter narrative to a utopian dream, told through a outsider’s portrait of a town attempting to renew itself (once again), supported by the ebb and flow of mining and farming in relation to the regions, history with First Nations peoples and climate change.

		<description>Towards An Affective Measure2021

Language is A River, Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne
Towards an Affective Measure 2021single-channel audio installation; 6 minutes 19
seconds, looped 3 whiteboards and carpet tiles, sound design: Alyx Dennison and Evelyn Ida Morriswhiteboard drawings: Queering Accounting initiative.

Other Accounts 2021edititoned performance;
one-on-one walking conversation with the artist conducted via mobile phone, screen-print posterduration: 20 minutes

Towards an Affective Measure was
created for Language Is a River and developed from a residency the
artist undertook with Monash Business School in May 2021. The installation
combines the material aesthetic of the artist’s temporary residency office with
an audio narrative that Rodigari has based on phrases and remarks collected
during walking conversations with Monash accounting academics. A technique that
has become core to Rodigari’s practice, the artist’s crowd-sourced and
collective commentaries work as exhibits of social/academic discourse as well
as capsule demonstrations of the self formed in dialogue. This new work
continues Rodigari’s interest in themes of art, work, labour and value as an
allegorical tale of late-stage capitalism.

The drawings in this
installation have been contributed by academics from the Queering Accounting
initiative including Associate Professor Nick McGuigan, Dr Lisa Powell (both Monash
Business School) and Dr Alessandro Ghio (Université Laval, Québec). &#38;nbsp;

		<description>On Time&#38;nbsp;2021

The National 2021: New Australian Art, Carriageworks, Sydney
On Time was developed through interaction with casual workers at Carriageworks. Within the gallery, twelve clock hands forged from steel are placed in abstracted clock face formation – each representing an hour of time. Rodigari has formed these multiple conversations into a poetic monologue, recalibrating them through language, gesture and installation, forming a new reading of the site of Carriageworks.

Rosa Pamphlet Bundle (Red Series),
Rosa Press— young girls with no jobs and timid eyes; old girls with no jobs and telling eyes

In Pulp, Sarah Rodigari re-reads a stack of lesbian novels gleaned from trips to discount bins and secondhand bookshops. The pulp titles are read for their recurring preoccupations – jobs, bars, shops, jerks – and reimagined into short poems that explore queer desire and public feeling. Rodigari’s poetic intervention is in direct dialogue with the books’ covers (their cut-price stickers and silhouettes) and suggests an inventory of the pulp character’s passage through the city, through codes of intimacy and withdrawal, with and without shit jobs and shit bosses. The pulp character here is both a relic and a fantasy, a ghostly figure tugged free from its reference, or else, forever in search of its promise ( Rosa Press).

The Red Series pamphlets are sold out.
Sarah Rodigari’s Pulp is available as a free download at Rosa Press.

		<description>Heavy Lifting2020

Misfit: Collage and Queer Practice,&#38;nbsp; National Art School, Sydney

Collaging
words and phrases from found texts and conversations, Sarah Rodigari plays with
and undermines the controls of language. The words engraved in Heavy Lifting&#38;nbsp;represent a textual collage that tease out the paradox of the queer
institution. With this site-specific sculpture, Rodigari directs our
attention to the traces of institutional history at the National Art School.

Positioned before the original stone walls of Darlinghurst jail, the sculpture
sits within a larger collage of textual engravings: blocks of sandstone set in
the walls carry inscriptions by the prisoners who cut them. This was a system
of keeping count – once a quota was reached, the prisoner would be pardoned.
Each block effectively paved one person’s path to freedom while imprisoning
another.
Rodigari highlights here the circular operation of institutional
power, which relies on the binary forces of detainment and release, exclusion
and inclusion. She also reminds us that homosexuality was a criminal offence in
New South Wales until 1984: the title Heavy Lifting can allude not only
to the queer incarcerated, but to the multigenerational burden of persecution.

		<description>UTS2019

Queer Tour is an event series in collaboration with the UTS Queer Collective. Research was undertaken with UTS academics in the fields of science, architecture, UX design, and gender studies. The tours drew a portrait of the university, intimately illustrated by its staff and students, their knowledge and lived experience. The poster series was designed using ideas that arose during&#38;nbsp;the creative process around queer spaces, architectures, voices and the queering of public space and what this might look and feel like within an institution. The typographic treatment developed for the posters queers the font used by UTS. This further considers the paradoxical relationship of a queer tour in an institutional context.

Process-based
performance for From
Here to There: Australian Art and Walking, Lismore Regional Gallery.&#38;nbsp;
This artwork engaged social modalities such as conversation, dialogue and walking as
a process of documenting relational knowledge in Lismore. The work was motivated by an
enquiry into how place is historically determined, invented, performed and
re-narrativised by different times, meanings and social political contexts.

Over a two-month period I engaged with Lismore-based women for whom walking was
an active part of life and work, seeking to understand local indigenous customs, along
with the values of non-indigenous communities.
